President Professor Peter Mutharika has arrived in Cairo, Egypt where he is expected to attend the Tripartite Meeting on Free Trade Area (FTA).

Malawi is expected to have more companies establishing telecommunication companies once the telecommunication act is amended by Parliament in the next sitting.

A Chinese telecommunication firm, Beijing Xinwei Telecom Technology Inc., will soon roll out in Malawi to offer cost-effective communication technologies to the rural masses according to the company’s Chief Scientist, Guanghan Xu.

Malawians are still finding it difficult to embrace the mobile banking system in the country despite number of companies putting up different efforts to promote the industry.
