APM speaks development

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has reiterated his commitment to support people in need and forge ahead with developmental projects to take this country forward.

The Malawi leader made the assurance at Goliati Trading Centre in Thyolo after earlier on inspected construction projects at Chisoka Primary School situated in the same district.


President Mutharika said since he ascended to the presidency in 2014, no one has died of hunger and will make sure all areas affected by hunger are well supplied with maize and food items.

“I promised you that I will never leave you alone. I have heard of hunger in this area. The Vice President is responsible to oversee such. But my administration will make sure no one suffers due to hunger,” said President Mutharika.


He also touched on development issues that soon some roads connecting with Goliati or Thyolo as a district will be bituminized to facilitate smooth flow of socio-economic activities.


The Malawi leader urged party leaders in the district to start building the party from the grassroots.


“I know you are doing a commendable job in building and strengthening the party. I would want to urge you to work hard from area to national level so that in 2024 the party should win with a landslide.”


Before his departure from Goliati, President Mutharika promised the DPP followers of a big rally in due course.
