MEC CALLS FOR PROFESSIONALISM AMONG ITS POLLING STAFF Featured

Pollster-Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has challenged its polling staff to discharge their duties professionally during the June 29 by-elections.

MEC Commissioner Emmanuel Fabiano made the call during the opening of a Training of Trainers on polling procedures and result management in Blantyre.


Commissioner Fabiano said: "Elections enable people to express their preferences hence the need to take into account their views when discharging your duties."


"By observing all the electoral laws and procedures this will enable voters to accept results of the by-elections," he added.


Commissioner Fabiano also called upon the staff to ensure that they observe covid-19 preventive protocols during the polling day.

MEC will on 29th June, 2021 hold by-elections in Nkhatabay Central Constituency, Nsanje Lalanje Ward and Chikwembere Ward in Blantyre North Constituency.
