Mangochi Police deputy PRO, Amina Tepani Daudi, said preliminary investigations revealed that Owen was armed with a panga knife, toy gun and metal object which he used when committing the crime.
The businnessman was riding his motorbike when the suspect threw a rope at him, making him fell down.
“In the event of the attack, he stabbed the victim on the left leg with a metal object. The suspect proceeded to break into Ethel Wyson's house, a business lady and went away with assorted items worth K650, 000,” said Daudi.
Chimadzi has been on the run for some weeks before Mangochi Police detectives successfully apprehended him on the wee hours of March 31 and recovered all the stolen items including the motorcycle.
He is expected to appear before court to answer charges of robbery with violence, Burglary and Theft contrary to section 278, 301 and 309 of the Penal code.
Chimadzi hails from Mkawa village, Traditional Authority Mlumbe in Zomba.
Meanwhile, Chiradzulu Police have intercepted computers and MEC jazz Matrix box at its check point, City boundary roadblock, in the morning of April 1.
The police have also arrested the suspected criminals who at the point of arrest failed to provide substantial information about the computers.

The suspects are Junior Mike Chalimba, 18, of Mashombe village in the area of Traditional Authority Machinjiri in Blantyre and Daudi Banda, 22, of Ntaja village in the area of Traditional Authority Kawinga in Machinga.
Police say the two, during the night of March 31, 2020, broke into a business apartment of Mrs Chitseko at Chikapa trading centre, in Limbe Township and stole the computers in the said building.
The two have since been charged for being found in possession of properties suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained.
Currently, the suspects have been relocated to Limbe Police station for further investigations.
