10,000 houses for Malawi's security agents on the cards

Government says is set to construct 10,000 houses for security agents in the country, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Joseph Mwananvekha told Parliament during  question time.

He said the line Ministry of Housing and Urban Development had  tendered  the project  and construction works will commence soon.


"I am told there is a team that is doing evaluation in order to get contractors for us to start building of security houses," said the Minister.

Among other things the houses are meant for the Malawi Defence Force (MDF),  Malawi Police Service (MPS),  Prisons and Immigration departments.
