Police dispel blood sucking rumours

The police have assured people in the Northern Region that rumous about blood sucking are false.

 

So far, five people have been killed in suspicion that they were bloodsuckers.

 

ln an interview, Peter Kalaya who is the Northern Region Police Region Spokesperson said "we regret that innocent lives have been taken out due to mob justice".

 

Kalaya said there is no medical proof that anyone has had their blood sucked "these are just hearsays. As police we have engaged communities on this issue.

 

Kalaya expressed concern over some thugs who are taking advantages of the situation to steal from people at night.

 

In a related development, Church and Society of Livngstonia Synod has urged police to deploy officers to areas where these bloodsucking allegations are rife.

 

Tere have been bloodsucking rumours in Ntchisi, Zomba, Rumphi, Chitipa, Karonga and kasungu districts.
